Oops better late than never..

Forgot to post these Bristol Zoo pics!

Chameleon singing happy birthday to Angela (yeah really!)

red Panda - ahhh!
A Sand Cat! (kept in the dark). Using ISO 1600, some weird white balance and a fair amount of photoshop adjusting.
Captions on a postcard..

Sunshine and the big 10k

A long weekend with the Sun out, had to get out and about and get some photos snapped. Fairly happy with a couple of them... also rolled past my 10,000th photo taken on my 350D! (over about 16 months or so I guess)

Forest gate and sunflowers..

I vowed to photograph a sunset this weekend to atone for my miserable effort so far this year. These are from Weston, no Birnbeck pier this time though (for a change)!

Game and Country Show

Bowood staged the first Wiltshire Game and Country show last weekend, despite the foot and mouth outbreak it was a great event. My camera was apparently attracted to the birds (no shock there then) as they had several falconry centres attending.

No particularly fantastic photos vaguely pleased with the Peregrine shots - especially the in flight one, considering how fast it was flying!

.. and a swan photo to round things off...

Swanage take 3 ..

.. it turns out Swanage was just a little too soggy from all the heavy rain last weekend so the camping trip was abandoned. I did get out on a bike ride thursday though (which was also rained on), here are some of the creatures that also braved the rain..

.. cool sign, unfortunately a lot of the crops have been ruined by the flooding.

Swanage take 2

Camping in Swanage last weekend again, with visits to Durdel Door (@4am), Brownsea Island and Monkey World. Still didn't get time to go to a lot of places so going to go back for round 3 at the end of the month.

Fisherfolk on Swanage pier
Some crows* for Violet

Peacock pics from Brownsea

Psycho chicken!

Orang-utan and chimps from Monkey World rescue center

.. and last but not least - a blogable photo of a red squirrel!

Not exactly the shot I was hoping for, maybe one day... ps. Apologies for the big pic my photoshop just decided to get bitchy - once I beat it into submission I will resize it.

* Not sure if these are rooks, crows or ravens, but they're cool anyway.

Tour de France - Le Grand Depart

Fantastic day in London on saturday, being one of the million+ people who turned up to watch the start of the Tour de France. The event, crowd and weather were all excellent. Luckily I just happened to have my camera with me too...

Tesla in the UK!!!

Okay, I don't usually post about the gigs I go to, but Tesla finally came to the UK last night and they absolutely blew me away. Outstanding.

Watch the YouTube video on the right for a kind of muffled, distorted shakey taste of the action.

Rejects and leftovers

I'll be completely unproductive and feeding my alcohol addition this weekend so here's some I took earlier...

Brotherswater..

Ullswater..

Davaar Island lighthouse

Campbeltown cinema - the oldest, still running, purpose built cinema in Scotland! Unfortunately they were showing Spidey 3 which we'd already seen (and never got time to sit through again).
