Left Overs

Battered up old tractor on Brownsea Island.

Medieval bridge near Sturminster Marshall. I can't seem to find any information on this bridge! However a similar bridge further up the river was built in the 16th Century.

Drive by shooting (below). Taken in Devizes as we drove through.
Note that I was in the passenger seat - not performing some kind of one handed driving-photo taking stunt.

Brownsea, Blue Sky.

Spent most of saturday on Brownsea Island soaking up the sunny weather...

.. saw quite a few Red Squirrels but only from a fair distance and they were very twitchy, so didn't get too many good shots.

Don't tell anyone, but I swear spring is actually better than the much touted autumn for them, the young ones are much more trusting and forgiving of wandering photographers!
Wild deer with fawn. Deers have to be regularly removed from the island, as they wade or swim across Poole harbour to get onto Brownsea. Who can blame them though!

Spent a while wandering the bird lagoon this year too...

Picks of a Little Egret flying, fishing and dancing (actually it's chasing a fish).

Hmm, not sure if it's internet explorer 8 (beta) or Blogger, but this formatting is a right mess. :\

Poole Moonrise

It was supposed to be a Sun rise, but with a bank of cloud and mist rolling in, it turned into a subtle misty, moon rise...

Poole harbour, an odd mix of old fishing boats and ultra-modern yachts.

New Forest

With clear, sunny days finally appearing ironically on the last days of summer I drove down to the New Forest overnight for a misty morning..

Hatchet Pond pre-dawn. Didn't spend long here, it didn't get as misty as I wanted, so headed off to Whitefield Moor...
Wild Ponies in the mist, lit by the rising Sun.
Steaming Highland Cow.

Fallow Deer stag.
One of the reasons I headed to the New Forest was for the chance to get a misty stag photo, unfortunately by the time I found some deers the mist had lifted.

Wild Unicorn? (this photo may contain small amounts of photoshop editing)

All in all a great day! Roll on autumn and a trip to Brownsea Island...

Last weeks pics..

The Lansdowne Monument, Cherhill. This was just a quick snap taken as a concept idea for another day, but turned out pretty well.

Some nice misty mornings and sunny days (at last)..

Dorset Steam Rally

Some pics from Dorset. Not as prolific as last year, but had a great time.
