Strumble Head

Finally my photos from Strumble Head lighthouse, Pembrokeshire from last weekend.

Friday sunset

Stormy saturday morning

It was very windy with the cold north wind hitting the north facing coastline, crashing waves smashing up a haze of sea spray. These pictures were taken from the relative shelter of an old military bunker turned birdwatching hide, it's a good angle, but would have been nice to find a new angle without risk of being blown off the cliffs.

South Wales

2 great days in sunny south wales friday and saturday..

St.Davids Cathedral

Ever present Porthcawl surfers.

Small Brained Tit

Quick walk down the cycle path this morning, glorious sunshine, none of the "everyone will get about 2 inches of snow" that the weatherman waffled about.

On the way back the bird feeding area (that locals have set up) had been vandalised, the branches broken and the feeders thrown into the canal. Most likely by 3 dumb-fk kids that had cycled past us.

Micro Mov Revs:

10,000 BC - Rubbish, falls between being too silly for an adult film and to boring for a kiddy film. 4,000 out of 10,000.
.
The Cottage - Unfortunately a bit cack. Gets better towards the end and some good moments, but just not upto par overall. More of a 1 bed terrace than a cottage.
.
Nosferatu (1922) - Fantastic. Watched it in Corsham as part of a local village film festival and thoroughly enjoyed it.
.
Into The Wild (DVD) - Brilliant. Loved it, one of my favourite films ever. Go watch it.
.
ps. The dots aren't some mysterious morse code message - just Google seem incapable of writing a decent Blogger interface.

Mov Rev - Vantage Point

I was kind of disappointed with this movie, I thought I was going to like it because it had loads of my favourite actors in, but I just really struggled to like the rewind storytelling and to me the plot just served this effect rather than the other way around. No doubt if your two favourite TV moments are 24 and Groundhog Day you'll love it, but I just didn't. The highlight by far is the car chase, which shows the US can almost do as good as Bourne when they put their minds to it! ;o)

8:00:00 out of 12:00:00

Better than watching a scratched JFK DVD on a broken DVD player, not as good as flicking between Lost, 24 and Groundhog day for 90 minutes.

And to brighten up this post here's a bumble bee bum..

Frog overload

Frogs spawning on sunday down the Wilts & Berks canal, loads of frogs and loads of frogspawn already. Between cyclists going past they got pretty noisy too.
Croaking ripples.

Dreamy frogs (did this effect by accident and thought it looked quite good)

Sunday around Swindon

A splash of colour provided by a trip to Butterfly world (and a curly sheep).

Saturday sunrise

Sunrise over a local ruined farm building (2 exposures combined).

Hares tearing around Blakehill Farm. Watching them boxing was excellent, but they weren't close enough to take photos this time.
