Truck Stop

Quick snap of a trucker waiting at a lay-by fast food van that I quite liked.

Cloverfield - HDR in movie form. From the dazzling highlights to the deep lowlights, the contrast of this film makes it quite difficult for me to tell if I liked it or hated it overall. I did like the beasts and the effects are stunning, but the characters and action interspersing scenes just missed my interest zone completely. Switching from fantastic action to waffly and boring scenes makes for good dynamics, but for me just watered down the experience.

$9million out of $15million.

Juno - Excellent. Just about on the American Beauty side of the chick flick border, I think it's safe for me to say it was great! Good storyline, great acting, well cast and well put together. If it kept me interested and entertained then it's done a good job as I was expecting to stereotypically not like it. Recommended.

$6million out of $6.5million.

Another World

Visited the Steam museum in Swindon yesterday and thought it was excellent. Not quite as I imagined it, but lots of interesting glimpses into a fascinating period of time. Didn't really take any steam engine photos, but plenty of great details, textures and period curiosities.

Odds and ends

One of the ruined paper mill water wheels near Slaughterford. The crystal clear waters of By Brook were used to create paper from 1635 until the mid 19th century.

Springwatch Chippenham

Long tailed tit, Greater spotted woodpecker, a hoverfly and a swathe snowdrops spotted on local walks. There were a few woodpeckers, but they proved to be quite elusive.

Spring on its way

Amongst all the chaotic weather that's kicking off around the world, spring is starting to creep nearer with snow drops and daffodils appearing.
