ISO400, 105mm, 1/2000s, f/4.5, -1ev
Large Skipper moth on a wild Early Purple Orchid.
Excuses: I'd left the ISO high from a previous shot, but at least at 1/2000s I didn't have much worry about camera shake! As always with macros this year - trying to get my backgrounds cleaner, so happy with this one. No processing, straight from camera except for noise reduction (thanks to my ISO blunder).

Nice shot Mark, not managed to get one of theses this year as yet.
Think thats Self Heal-Prunella vulgaris, flower its sitting on also

Thanks Dave, my mistake, I think you're correct. I must admit to not knowing many wildflowers and rely on looking them up. In my defence the early purple orchid is very similar looking! :)
I probably had orchids on my mind since I was also shooting Bee-orchids.

Hi Mark
I was shooting Bee orchids last week their beautiful flowers, http://www.flickr.com/photos/davenjulie/5833013858/in/photostream
I have updated my Blog today As I have found at least 20 of my images tat are being Unauthorised use, I will be sending them all invoices immediately
Dave
Great shot, using flash really makes them sparkle! They're relatively common around our area, so not too hard to find if you're looking.
What did you use to find out about un-authorised use? I've used TinEye a while back to search for copies, but not tried in a while. I figure copyright infringement of photos on blogger will be very common, but have never worried about it since I don't sell my images (yet).
